Veronika String Quartet
Sponsorship

Now there are more ways to support the Veronika String Quartet! Individuals or groups of music-loving friends can sponsor pieces for the coming season and get a credit in the program!

Lera Auerbach was born in Russia in 1973; she is a prolific composer now living in New York. Her 2020 work Frozen Dreams will cost $100.

Florence Price (1887-1953) was an African-American composer whose first symphony was played by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; her work is now being rediscovered. The sheet music for her beautiful String Quartet no. 2 costs $80.

Clara Schumann (1819-1896) was Robert Schumann's wife, mother of six children, a talented composer and concert pianist. Johannes Brahms was in love with her for many years! Her Drei Lieder for soprano and string quartet costs $50.

Felix Mendelssohn's sister Fanny (1805-1847) was a talented composer herself, much admired by her brother. They critiqued each other's work! Her String Quartet costs $45.

Rodion Shchedrin was born in 1932 in the USSR, and is a prolific and popular composer there. His beautiful Lyric Scenes for string quartet, dedicated to his famous wife ballerina Maya Plisetskaya, is a relatively recent work, from 2008. It costs $30.

It is also possible to sponsor a guest artist! The visitors have to travel and attend rehearsals, and they effectively become members of the group! They make it possible for us to offer works like Clara Schumann's songs, Robert Schumann's piano quintet, and Brahms's string sextet. Get together to sponsor one of this season's guests:

Jennifer DeDominici, soprano.

Zahari Metchkov, piano.

Michael Sabatka, viola.

Allison Drenkow, cello.

Sponsor guest artist for $600.

Personal checks are welcome as well.
