2018-2019 Concert Season

Dear Friends,

Welcome back to another year with the Veronika String Quartet!

We look back on the 2017-18 season fondly with its great programs, concerts for the youth and elderly, recordings at Colorado Public Radio, and successful concerts at the Lancaster Festival in Ohio. But even more so, we were excited to engage all of you in programming! Because of you, we came to know and perform some of the fascinating works and share them with our audiences.

The 2018-19 season is very special one to us. It is hard to believe it is our 30th season! As usual, we've done a lot of good-natured arguing about the programs. This time we decided to include many works that played an important role in our group's artistic growth. During the season, titled "Thirtieth Anniversary of the Veronika String Quartet: Pearls of Wisdom, Works of Beauty,” you will hear masterpieces from Beethoven, Schubert and Mendelssohn to Schulhoff, Webern and Robert Helps. Our schedule will be filled with visiting schools and retirement communities, and many celebratory events always with good music, great food, wonderful memories and visiting with cherished friends.

Marvelous violist Barbara Hamilton of the Colorado Chamber Players is going to be joining VSQ in December for Brahms's sublime Second String Quintet. We are also very happy to welcome back composer and music theorist Mark Arnest to help with pre-concert lecture presentations.

Our primary concerts in Pueblo will be held at the Ascension Episcopal Church and at the Pueblo Community College. Occiato Theater (Gorsich #126) on campus of the Pueblo Community College is a new venue we are trying this season. We are very thankful to PCC for the opportunity and looking forward to working together.

There are no venue changes in Colorado Springs, where our series concerts will be held at the Packard Hall on the Colorado College campus and the Music Room at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College.

We are truly looking forward to seeing you all to share our beloved music with you!
