2020-2021 Concert Season

“Out of Adversity: Beethoven and his musical descendants”

Dear Friends,

Welcome back to another year with the Veronika String Quartet!

We hope you all are staying safe and healthy. What a strange time we are living through! We in the Veronika String Quartet are trying to come to grips with a new reality. One thing for certain: We’ve got to keep making music!

Our new 2020-21 season is titled “Out of Adversity: Beethoven and his musical descendants”. We are putting together four programs, which will continue celebrating music of Beethoven and also include works of composers deeply affected by the Great Master, such as Mendelssohn, Schubert, Brahms and Shostakovich. Please, refer to calendar/series page for program details.

As part of our collaboration with Colorado College, the Quartet will participate in a celebration of new music: “50 for the Future” is comprised of works commissioned by the renowned Kronos Quartet, encouraging composers to embrace the string quartet form, and offering a wide array of new composing techniques, as well as fresh musical ideas from around the globe.

Due to health concerns over COVID-19 and safety of his travel Mr. Kluksdahl decided to resign. We had eight wonderful years of music making and wishing Scott all the best. Musicians of the Veronika String Quartet will be performing with substitute cellists and carry on with programs as planned. We are hopeful we fill the position by the end of this season.

Safety and health of our patrons are of utmost importance. At this point we do not feel comfortable scheduling any live performances and decided to offer first two programs ONLY as live streams. Decisions about scheduling second half of the season will be coming at a later point.

We look forward to seeing you all and to sharing our music with you!
