A STEP HIGHER
2015-2016 Concert Season
Our 26th season, titled A Step Higher, is focused on the continuation of raising standards of music making. We would like to challenge audiences and ourselves musically, mentally and spiritually by taking on some of the most complicated works of chamber music. The season’s programs will include Ludwig van Beethoven's Op. 132, Joseph Haydn's Seven Last Words, quartets by Bela Bartok, Augusta Read Thomas, and Anton Webern. There is no doubt one will remember these concerts for a long time.
We are happy to present to you this season's distinguished guest artists. Pianist Dr. Angelina Gadeliya, nationally renowned recitalist and recording artist, will lead in Piano Quintet in F Minor, Op. 34 by Johannes Brahms. Dr. Gal Faganel, Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC), Greeley, will join the group in Schubert's last chamber work, his Cello Quintet in C Major, D. 956, Op. posth. 163. And lastly, beautiful and warm mezzo-soprano of Sarah Barber will shine in Respighi's Il Tramonto.
All of our programs will be accompanied by pre-concert lectures, which will begin at 6:45 pm in Pueblo and at 1:15 pm in Colorado Springs.
